This fine Listed Grade II star house suffered an
insensitive conversion into 8 flats in the 1970's.
We were commissioned to negotiate the
complete redesign of the interior of the house
with English Heritage and the Local Authority,
including the inclusion of a private cinema and a
lift.
The entire house was stripped to its’ bare
essentials and the project returned the building to
a single family dwelling. This included the total
redesign and renovation of the interior whilst at
the same time retaining the principle architectural
characteristics of the original Listed design.
Imaginative solutions had to be found to
incorporate the clients modern requirements in
this architecturally sensitive building, involving
extensive internal demolition and structural
modifications to suit the new layout.
