Our clients acquired this imposing double fronted
Victorian end of terrace house but due to its situation
on an awkward triangular site the layout internally
was highly compromised.
A central staircase effectively carved up the interior
into a multitude of small unconnected rooms. The
challenge was therefore to release the potential of
the house to meet our client’s lifestyle that required
large rooms for hospitality and entertainment - all
designed in a traditional style.
The key to success of the project was moving the
whole staircase outwards creating a new staircase
enclosure and extending the rear rooms. This gave
the freedom to extend the principle reception rooms
and central hallway at the front of the house and the
opportunity to create a new conservatory and a
media centre within the triangular footprint of the site.
The house was rebuilt internally using the highest
quality materials to create a home of lasting grace
and value.
