Our clients had recently purchased a small Victorian
terrace house which had remained virtually
unchanged since it was built. The brief was to create
an uncluttered contemporary home maximising its
potential and size.
The removal of all internal ground floor walls allowed
a large open living space to be created linked
directly to the kitchen opening into a redesigned
garden. We created a seamless vista from front to
back of the house giving a great sense of space.
Natural light floods in from both ends as well as
above through the glazed roof over the new side
extension. The ceiling level of the first floor was
lowered sufficiently to allow a new master bedroom
and bathroom to be created within the roof space.
The whole house has been transformed from a small
cottage into a 4 bedroom family house suitable for a
modern family life style.
